Sandler Center Launches New Website

Nov 5  / 2019

The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts is excited to unveil a newly redesigned SandlerCenter.org. This brand-new site offers more user-friendly capabilities, accessibility features, and is mobile friendly. The design is intended to match the cultural entertainment that the Sandler Center offers. Every detail from the background matching the seats in the performance hall to the curves in the images was designed with the building in mind. Check out the new design and upcoming events by visiting SandlerCenter.org.

Earlier this year, the staff at the Sandler Center, in partnership with the City of Virginia Beach Cultural Affairs Office, sent out an RFP looking for a company to update the current design and functionality of SandlerCenter.org. Carbonhouse, a worldwide company with expertise in entertainment building’s websites, was awarded the contract. An accessible website is a priority for Carbonhouse. As a building, we strive to reach the widest audience and make our events inclusive to everyone. This was one of the reasons we aligned our self with Carbonhouse. Each new website Carbonhouse creates is created with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0.). SandlerCenter.org now implements content that is made available to the sense’s sights, hearing, and/or touch that can be used by a wide variety of user agents. Including interface forms, controls, and navigation that are operable. We are continuously taking steps to improve our building and our website to ensure they comply with the best practices and standards.

In conjunction with launching our new website, November 1 marked the launch of the 6th annual Ynot Every Event Sweepstakes. One lucky fan will win two tickets to every event at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts and Chartway Arena at the Ted Constant Convocation Center from January 1 to December 31, 2020. The winner also receives tickets to ODU Football and Basketball games, Ynot Italian Pizza, and $500 for Coastal Ride Cab Rides for the year. Patrons can enter once per day at YnotTix.com from now until November 30. For official rules, visit SandlerCenter.org/home/ynoteveryevent.
